Why does Gen Z cover their face?

Some Gen Z individuals cover their faces in photos for privacy concerns, especially with facial recognition technology concerns. Masks became normalized during pandemic years. Some use face covering as aesthetic choice or artistic expression. However, this is not universal behavior - many Gen Z people show their faces normally. Privacy awareness and control over personal image are important values for this digitally-native generation.
